dude you made me laugh out loud! thanks so much for the clarification - i got scared that we put out a crappy recipe. some people just aren't pepper eaters - it actually does have heat when used in abundant quantities. but i'm glad you ended up liking it. when done right it is such a simple and satisfying meal.

I just had that experience with an Alton Brown recipe for mac and cheese. And he did the 1 cup of panko on the video too. Not a typo. Way too much. I would think 1/2 cup would be plenty.

Bacon does smell amazing, I admit it. I think the problem with most feaux bacon products (such as Morning Star Farms) is that they're colored such that the huge strip that resembles fat remains no matter how long you cook them. It looks gross.

I love quiche! I never thought about putting corn in it, but this recipe sounds delicious. I need to get rid of some spinach, so I'm going to make this for lunch. I have everything but the tomatoes, so I'm going to sub roasted red peppers. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Looks fantastic! And I have to say I'm honored that my sweet potatoes made your list of things to make sooner or later. :-)

Next time i made them, I substituted half a small head of cauliflower and half a can of chick peas for one of the potatoes. It turned out awesome.
